How to find Shopify stores in a niche

Agencies, app makers and theme sellers all need the same thing: a list of Shopify stores in one niche. There are 5 real ways to build one. Each has a different price and a different place to stall. Here they are, honestly.

  1. 01

    A store database

about $75 a month, and up

StoreLeads, BuiltWith and similar sellers index millions of stores with the tech attached. You filter by country, niche and revenue guess, then export.

This is the fastest route to a big list. It is also a monthly subscription for a list you may only need once. The cheapest serious plan sits around $75 a month.

  2. 02

    Search fingerprints

    free, and crude

Shopify stores leak searchable traces. Try a site:myshopify.com search, or phrases like "powered by Shopify" inside a niche's sites.

It costs nothing and finds small stores fast. It misses most custom domains, which is where every serious brand lives. Treat the result as a starting pile, not a list.

  3. 03

    The niche's own shelf

    free, and manual

Every niche already has a curated list of who matters: roundups, Instagram follows, marketplace sellers, named competitors.

This gives you the right stores with no tech attached. You still have to work out which of them run Shopify — which is the next 2 methods.

  4. 04

    Check each store by hand

    free, and slow

One store takes under a minute: open the page source and look for cdn.shopify.com, or read the response headers. The full set of signals, with commands, is on how it works.

Accurate, and you learn to read the evidence yourself. The trouble is the shape: fine for 5 stores, miserable for 50, and nobody does it for 200.

  5. 05

    Bulk check your own list

    $19 per batch, once

Paste up to 200 URLs into the bulk checker. Every row gets a verdict with its evidence, and the batch downloads as a CSV.

Built for the moment the other 4 methods end at: a list in hand, a verdict needed per row. One payment, no subscription.

Where we lose, on purpose

Shopify Check does not find stores. No database of niches sits behind it, and we will not pretend otherwise. You bring the list from any of the methods above.

What we settle is the last mile: which names on your list actually run Shopify. That answer is free for 1 URL and $19 for a batch of 200, evidence on every row.

Have the list already? Check 200 URLs in one batch, verdict and evidence per row, CSV out.
